Introducing Altego: purpose-built AUSTRAC reporting software.
Altego is a dedicated platform for remittance businesses to manage transaction monitoring and AUSTRAC reporting. It's currently in development.
While you wait
A free tool to simplify your AUSTRAC spreadsheet reporting.
If you don’t currently have a tool for this, we’ve made a free AUSTRAC Report Builder available. It's a simple web page that helps you fill in AUSTRAC's own spreadsheet reporting templates: instead of typing directly into the spreadsheets, you enter each transaction once in a short form and the tool builds the report file for you.
IFTI-DRA Outgoing
For money sent from Australia overseas under a designated remittance arrangement.
IFTI-DRA Incoming
For money received into Australia from overseas under a designated remittance arrangement.
TTR-MSB
Threshold Transaction Reports for money services businesses, for cash transactions of AUD $10,000 or more.
How it works
- It runs entirely in your own browser. There is no sign up, no account, and no server involved: nothing you type is sent anywhere.
- Your business and reporting officer details are remembered on your own computer only, so you don’t have to re-enter them each time.
- Transaction details you enter, including customer information, are saved in this browser’s storage on your own computer, so a reload or restart won’t lose your work. They stay on this device only, until you clear them (see “Clear all transactions”) or clear this browser’s site data.
- This storage is tied to the specific browser and profile you used, on this one computer. Open the tool in a different browser, a different browser profile, or a different computer, and it won’t be there: each is its own separate, unconnected copy.
Please read before you use this tool
This tool is provided free of charge, as a convenience, for businesses that don’t currently have a tool of their own for AUSTRAC spreadsheet reporting. You use it entirely at your own risk.
It is not legal or compliance advice, and it does not replace your own judgement about your business’s AUSTRAC obligations. Kestrel Assurance and Altego make no warranty that the tool, or the reports it produces, are complete, accurate, or fit for your particular circumstances.
You are responsible for checking the final report before you rely on it. Before lodging anything with AUSTRAC, review every row the tool produces against your own records and confirm it is correct. The tool makes a number of simplifying assumptions (for example, that a Threshold Transaction Report involves a straightforward cash transaction conducted by the customer in person, not a mixed payment or one handled by an employee on the customer’s behalf); if your transaction doesn’t fit that pattern, you may need to adjust the exported report by hand.
Everything you enter, including customer information, is stored only in this browser on this device. It is not sent anywhere, but it also isn’t backed up anywhere: if this computer or browser profile is lost, so is the data. Clear the transaction list (or this browser’s site data) once you’re done with a batch, particularly on a shared or public computer, since the data will otherwise remain there indefinitely. Neither Kestrel Assurance nor Altego can access, back up, or recover any data you enter into this tool.
Kestrel Assurance and Altego accept no liability for any loss, penalty, or other consequence arising from your use of this tool or reliance on its output. If you're unsure about your AUSTRAC reporting obligations, please seek independent professional advice.
